Carl,
You might want to check some back issues of Home Automator Magazine
(www.homeautomator.com). I wrote a few beginner ECS articles a while ago.
Perhaps they'd be of some help?

Hi all,
Maybe a bit off the subject but what about a
FAQ type manual for ECS? It's become fairly
obvious to me from the contents of this list that
many if not most of the ECS users are seasoned
Dos or Windows users. I can't help but think
that the best system management software on
the planet could easily become more accessible if
some of the most common stumbling blocks were
removed. I've personally learned an awful lot from
the list and it's rather amazing contributors, but that takes
a real commitment and true interest. Any synopsis of
the goings on here or even available print-outs would
really help. As you may have guessed, I'm one of them.
I rather dislike learning Dos stuff and like answers on
the spot. What I really enjoy is seeing, experiencing,
ECS in action.
Thanks,
Carl Keyes
