Subject: From: Date: | RE: [ECS] START.EXE Michael David Mon, 1 Jun 1998 22:46:08 -0400 |
Hi Mark!
Two things:
1) All DOS programs (evc, sunclc, and now start.exe) are opening up "normal"
DOS windows when they execute. I thought that was fixed at one time, but
I'm not really sure.
2) The reason I'm bringing it up now, is because when the START Dos window
comes up, it appears to freeze, which in turn freezes ECSW. TTS never
really gets started, although it is listed in the "Close Program" window.
If I force START to close, everything is still frozen.
If, instead, I force TTS to close, START will go away and ECSW will continue
to load.
Finally, if, instead, I force ECSW to close, START will go away and TTS will
continue to load.
Now, here's the really interesting part (or maybe not). This behavior is
exactly what I was seeing when I was trying to start ACE-S from ECSW.
Here's the versions of the programs I am running:
ECSW EXE 615,424 06-01-98 10:08p ECSW.EXE
TTS EXE 220,672 06-01-98 10:09p tts.exe
VR EXE 108,544 06-01-98 10:09p vr.exe
Cheers!

I am about to upload a new ECSW.EX_ with a minor problem
corrected relating to the use of START.EXE as described
in UPD.DOC (enh #35).
