From 3.1 Software/Hardware Installation:
8) Before installing any devices, you should create a record of
your PCs hardware and resources used. Such a record allows you
to easily check for conflicts before a new device is installed.
Afterwards, you should update the record to reflect the existance
of the device and the resources it uses. SYSINV.DOC is included
as a "default" record, and is fairly accurate for most PCs. But
W95 users should create a new SYSINV.DOC as follows, so as to
assure accuracy: Select "START", "SETTINGS", "CONTROL PANEL",
"SYSTEM", "DEVICE MANAGER", "COMPUTER", "PRINT", & "SETUP". Then
select "GENERIC / TEXT ONLY" printer for output (so as to "print"
a text file), and print to "\ECS\SYSINV.DOC". If you have not
defined such a printer, do so via the "ADD NEW HARDWARE" in the
CONTROL PANEL (define "manufacturer" as "Generic").
