if you know the conflicting memory areas try reserving them, and with a little luck and prayer the plug and play will shift to a new area. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Gilmore [mailto:omnip@usit.net] Sent: Tuesday, January 09, 2001 10:43 AM To: ecs-list@netbloc.com Subject: Re: [ECS] Flexport PCI4S install problem I removed COM5, then did the following (with no change): 1) Tried auto config (letting Win decide). 2) Forced the FLEXPORT to IRQ5. 3) Forced it's memory and I/O ports to unused areas. I find it strange that Win wants to assign IRQ and mem areas such that they cause "conflicts". But still, removing ALL such conflicts had no effect. -- Mark Gilmore Omnipotence (ECS home automation software) http://omnipotencesoftware.com 423-745-0026 Hours: Mon-Sat, 9AM-8PM/EST peter kraus wrote: > > given this layout I assume that irq 5 and that com port could be removed. > then free up the drivers for it and the pci-univer serial and reinstall. > should end up on irq5 as ports 3-4-5-6. > while all the manufacturers suggest that any irq will do i have found that a > free irq helps p-n-p to get it correct.
