My CID box is before my distinctive ring splitter box and it catches CID on
all "lines". But I am still looking for a way for ECS to get CID on call
waiting.

Frank,
Is ECS between the ring discriminator and the incoming line, or does the
ring discriminator get the line first? I wonder if the ring discriminator is
"eating" the CID data stream.

Subject: [ECS] CID Question
I have Distinctive Ring on one phone line. It gives me two ph numbers one
of which I give as the FAX Number. I have a ring splitter box, and ECS
monitors both. When ECS sees it is a FAX call, it speaks: Incoming Fax
call. I used to get also the standard CID-C announceement. After Phone
company said all was well I noticed $20 standalone box does record CID
digits for incoming fax call, but ECS does not.
Phone company says due to the double cadenance of the ringing I am missing
it. Phone Interface-C is Zoom 14.4 Modem. MLM-8 if put in Service does no
better. This is not an ECS Software issue.
Can anyone recommend a CID device which will work with the Distinctive Ring
AKA ring master etc??
Thanks, Frank
