Subject: From: Date: | RE: [ECS] Distinctive Ring CID Wayne Wittenberg Mon, 29 Jan 2001 20:35:17 -0500 |
Frank,
I am using some antique bare PC board CID interface, no display. It is
about 10 years old. I bought it before I got ECS and it works. As I recall
it may have been made by International Micropower or something like that. I
am still using ECS/dos.
If you talk to Yes-Tele again, ask if they are doing anything for CID call
waiting. I would love for ECS to be able to announce who is on the call
waiting, since ECS announces callers, I never bothered to by phones with
CID. My current box sometimes catches CID call waiting, but I cannot figure
out why it only does it about 10% of the time, I am amazed it works at all,
since the formats are supposed to be different between regular CID and call
waiting CID.

The Phone Interface C & D are both before the ring splitter. I use Ring
Detectors after the split so ECS can say it is a Fax Call. Wayne what type
of box are you using for feeding your CID onfo to ECS?
An update, I talked to Patrick of Yes-Tele, makers of MLM-8 and he is
sending me a new EEProm for MLM-8 which may help. He admits his box is
looking for CID between 1st and 2nd ring but mistaking the double ring
cadence of the first ring as two rings. I wonder if Zoom Modem doing same
thing?
