Hi Mark!

Out of curiosity, why the change in the insert/overstrike mode?

I ask because the new insert mode is a bit weird when entering states into
number items, when the keypad enter key is used to terminate the entry.

For example, I have a number item that I use to enter a new television
channel. After the appropriate event changes the channel, it sets this
number item back to "0". Here's the problem: when I enter 7, then hit the
keypad enter key, my event changes to the channel to channel 70. Try it
yourself and see if it is a bit weird to you.

BTW, I have never been a fan of the way they keypad enter key works
different than the return key. Again, it's rather non standard for a
windows app. Refresh my memory, what was the reason you changed this?

Now, in a perfect world, it would be nice if we had an environment variable
to make the return and enter key work the same, and another to select which
insert or overstrike mode on startup, either of which would solve this
problem.

But then, I've asked for a lot lately, so I'll understand if I just need to
adjust. :)

Cheers!

Subject:	[ECS] ecs upload

FYI:The following updates have just been uploaded to
ftp.gallops.com/ecs.
They are also in ecsbeta (until next upload).

	3.4.012 (uploaded on 6/17/98):
	----------------------------------------------------------------
     6/2/98:

    44)	ERRBELL.WAV has been greatly truncated so as to be less
obnoxious.

     6/8/98:

    45)	ECS/ECST now properly route messages thru Phone-Interface-C (if
applicable)
when SPEAK-MESSAGES is set to SPEAK.

    46)	ECSW now supports many more font width/height combinations (via
F9/F10).

     6/11/98:

    47)	A web-page download utility (WPDL.EXE) is now distributed with
ECSW.

     6/16/98:

    48)	Item packets used in the DDE-API now support an
"adjustment-operator"
as used in Events (see DDECLN.C).

    49)	The default "character input mode" for all prompts is now
"insert"
instead of "overstrike". When you enter a character in insert-mode,
all characters to the right are shifted over. To toggle between
	modes, enter <Ctrl-T>.
