OK guys, I think I fixed the caret problem.
Turned out that I was supposed to "destroy" the caret
upon losing the "keyboard focus" (and re-create it
upon getting focus).
Still don't know why this was a problem on just a few PCs.
I will upload to BETA in a few minutes.
