I believe 3 conductor shielded is recommended 22AWG or better.  I doubt
it matters much unless you hve long runs.  Cat5 is not the best for
this.

Does anyone know how reliable the Channel Plus IR injectors are?  I
would use the Xantech system you are using if Channel Plus were less
than optimal.  Hardwired is the best but requires more work to install.

I am using Xantech IR Repeater system throughout the house.  Two
Xantech
recievers and a few mini emitters at this point.  I know some of you
are also
using the products from Niles.  What kind of cable are you suppossed to
be
using to connect the system?  I see shielded cable for sale in the
catalog.  I
am using not twisted pair old cable, before CAT5UTP was invented.  It
was
available, therefore cheap.  Am I shooting myself in foot here??
