Subject: From: Date: | RE: [ECS] VR not "responding" with voice prompts Mark Sekelsky Thu, 17 Sep 1998 16:56:45 -0500 |
Mark,
I tend to think there is a bug. Here's why: I first played around with VR
this past winter. All worked as it should. I haven't used VR since but
have left my event and all voice items setup. Now those same items/events
that *did* work do not.
I have discovered something else. My voice-session item is setup that I say
"Computer" and ECS responds "Yes?" If I want verification the item is setup
to recognize "Correct." Lets say I have a voice item called "Light on" that
is setup to require verification. If I say "light on" the phrase will
appear in the VR dialog. ECS does NOT repeat the phrase (but should). If I
say "correct" the word correct appears but nothing else happens. If I say
"OK" (which I beleive is your default) the item will then execute properly.
Second small finding. A while back I reported (and I beleive that Carl has
as well) some type of DDE error (sorry I don't have it exactly) that you
felt was caused by more than 100 items in the vr.cmd file. I got one of
those errors again today and deleted a line from vr.cmd and all was well. I
have subsequently *added* 4 more lines without getting that error leading me
to beleive that it is not as simple as just the number of items.

Mark, I really have no idea what is wrong. All I can suggest
is that you carefully read the applicable chapters in ECS.TXT
(I don't think there is a bug).
I assume you are running ECS-standard.
ECS-lite does not support VR.
