Mark,

OK, well, I think it's finially getting through my "pea-brain" .....

All of the following are in reference to Phone-Interface-A
(Soundblaster), under ECST 3.4 (which I got up and running last night
late - thanks for your help earlier!)

A Phone message, (answering machine) is treated differently by ECST than
is a Voice-Recording-A.   You can set up a Play/NW on a Voice-Recording
but you cannot do so with a Phone message. OK, but why? Could not ECS
handle them the same way, since they both are recordings made through
Phone-Interface-A? This would ONLY apply when the message was being
played back through the Sound Blaster, NOT the Phone-Interface-A.

You don't really need a /NW when retrieving your messages via phone
(local or remote) since you have the ability to control message flow
thru the telephone keypad. However, if you elect (as I want to) to
playback your phone messages over a speaker, you don't have any way to
backspace/delete/etc, your messages while the system's playing them. If
they were somehow being played back through Phone-Interface-A, I'd
understand why, but they're being played back through the SoundBlaster
card, which has the ability to use /NW if you've playing back a
Voice-Recording-A, so I really don't understand why you've chosen to
handle the two processes differently.

Is it possible to add the following states to Speak-Messages Type:

                Play->Sp/NW
                Play/New->Sp/NW

If you say it's impossible, well, OK, I just simply don't understand why
a phone message recorded via Bigmouth is any different to the system
than a Voice-Recording made with the Bigmouth.

Thanks,

Bill Walters
