OK, first things first -

I want to be able to play a "Speak-Messages" type item with a "/NW"
option.

Not only Play/NW, but also be able to Play NEW messages without waiting
thru the speaker. The Message would be recorded by the BIGMOUTH and
played back through the Sound Blaster Card.

OK?

I'm sure it is difficult to understand. Let me try to put it in
different terms.

You walk in the door.
You have an indication that one or more messages are waiting
You press a button on :
        a) an x-10 keypad
-or- b) an IR remote control (assuming you have 2-way IR remote
Hardware)
-or- c) a touchscreen hooked via serial control (with
appropriate items defined)
-or- d) a keypad hooked via serial control (with appropriate
items defined)

    to listen to your messages..........

Right now, all you can do is play "ALL" messages or "ALL NEW" messages.
You CANNOT delete any message as you are hearing it!

However, if you pick up your phone, you can press #, and enter a
sequence you have defined to play 1)ALL Messages, 2)ALL NEW messages.
While those messages are playing you can:
        1) DELETE the MESSAGE
        2) SKIP the MESSAGE
        3) KEEP the MESSAGE as NEW
        3) backspace by 2-3 seconds in the current message as it plays
        4) skip forward by 2-3 seconds in the current message as it
plays
        ......etc......

So, why cannot you play a message which has been RECORDED via the
BIGMOUTH card through the Soundblaster card and allow ECST to continue
execution????? You allow Voice-Recording-A through a BIGMOUTH card to
be played back through a Soundblaster card without halting all ECST
execution......... What's the difference?
