It's more complicated - An Event would have to set the
modem to "local" mode upon pickup detect (so as to
detect DTMFs), and then return to "line" mode
IF the 1st button pushed is NOT "#".

Given that this device is not "user-friendly"
(and so would have limited popularity), I
would have to charge for the additional support
of the new LOCAL & LINE States, but the cost
would probably be minimal (under $100).
