i agree.
if i started with ecs i would go dos as i still believe in the old ecs
maxim of a computer dedicataed to home automation which would mean (for
many people) an old machine that may not run win 95.i use a pentium for the
family computer but i use a 486 with 8 meg ram for the ham radio computer
and that is what i would use for automation.
ecs needs to get NEW people into using ecs and that means people who dont
want to spend 500-2000 for the computer and 200 for ecs and then hardware
interfaces to see what it does and if they like it !
i would also want local phone control !
