Subject: From: Date: | IR devices? Slink-e? Wayne Wittenberg Sat, 03 Oct 1998 18:57:59 -0400 |
Somebody has a JDS IR-XP2 for sale in comp.home.automation.
I haven't gotten around to adding IR to my system yet.
What are the feelings of the IR-XP2 versus the HomeVision?
Has anybody here used or looked at the Slink-e interface?
It has RS-232 with an open protocol and talks to Sony S-Link, Control-A,
Control-S, and Infrared Equipment. This should give you real good control
of CD jukeboxes. Up to 12 or more jukeboxes, each with about 200 discs,
would give you full control over 2400 discs. It uses the CDDB database to
auto lookup disc titles and song titles/times. It also has 8 IR zones.
Info at http://www.nirvis.com/. The price is fair at $179, accessories are
reasonable.
c'ya,
Wayne
