Subject: From: Date: | Re: [ECS] Outdoor PIR Scott Reston Mon, 05 Oct 1998 07:52:50 -0500 |
not sure if you're interested in whether it can stand up to the
weather or if it performs well (or both...)
i've had one of the round ones (can' remember the part #, but it's
the same one that ships with reX-10) on the 'ceiling' of my front
porch (to sense when someone's on the porch) for a couple of years
now... it's not directly exposed to rain, since it's on the porch,
but it has stood up to winter temperatures (albeit mild north
carolina winters). i did need to strategically place an RF receiver
so that the signals would reach it consistantly (the signals don't
travel through my outer walls so well...)
let me know if you've got any other questions about it...
