Re: [ECS] Computer control of A/V equipment?

Hi Timothy,
I'm using both a hardwired IR system and due to a litlle lack of
planning, I'm also using a system over the coaxial cable. The coaxial
system is just as reliable as the dedicated hardwired system. It's also
simple. If you have a HAS catalog, you need a HAS8195 at both ends of the
cable run. The one at the controller injects the IR signal and the one at
the equiptment extracts the signal. They have coax in & out with a stereo
mini-plug for either a receiver or an emitter. You have to have splitters
(if you spit the RF) that pass DC voltage, and they need to be placed after
any amplification of the RF signal. Cost is $9.95 per injector. If you need
more than 1 or 2 emmitters at the equiptment end you can get a 4 or 6
emitter connecting block. (HAS-8191 or HAS-8191a)
				Hope this helps,
								Mike
