Subject: From: Date: | RE: [ECS] Computer control of A/V equipment? Michael David Thu, 8 Oct 1998 20:03:04 -0400 |
Hi Tim!
I have all hardwired I/R emitters (16) using cat 5 wiring. I use 16 redac
relays to control which single emitter or zone of multiple emitters to send
the signal to. One of my zones, of course, is an "all" so I can do the big
shutdown when we put the house to sleep or arm the "away" security mode.
It's nice to not have to run around the house to turn everything off.
Cheers!
Michael David

Subject: [ECS] Computer control of A/V equipment?
HI All,
I am curious, is anyone using their computer to control their A/V equipment?
If so, how are you doing it? Is your computer near your A/V stuff?
Powermids? etc.?
I am looking into setting up my system and would like to hear how people are
doing this with ECS so I can hopefully avoid choosing the wrong path later
if I want to expand. I can't do any hardwiring right now, I am renting a
townhouse and so I guess I am limited to wireless. My computer is upstairs
and my A/V equipment is downstairs.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Timothy G. Mulle'
