Hi Mark S!
When I was using the 2800 I experienced all of those problems. In addition,
I found the TTS->Phone-C conversion distorted and unusable (this is a
limitation of the Rockwell compression algorithms). My biggest complaint,
even when ECS didn't hang up during the recording, was that the recorded
level was so low that we could barely hear it.
I do want to point out that I don't think the issues with phone-ifc-c are no
fault of Mark's. IMO, voice modems just suck. :)
Cheers!
Michael David

Subject: [ECS] Phone-interface-c
I am using a Zoom ComStar 2800 SVD 33.6 with ECS (the recommended
Windows/ECS internal modem) and am having numerous issues with this modem.
I want to verify that I am the only one with these issues and/or find out if
anybody has a trouble free modem. Issues:
During the "goodbye" at the end of a message being recorded ECS will
occasionally lockup. This is a relatively new issue.
Occasionally somebody will be leaving a message and ECS will hang-up during
the message (and the are speaking loudly).
Back when issue number 1 did not exist I found that after running for about
5 days the modem would stop sending sound to the external speaker. A reset
using F5 would fix this.
Anybody else have any of these issues?
Mark S
