Could this be an option per item? I don't know how troublesome or hard
that would be to do. I could see the 60 second saving as a basic or
standard saving. I could see the "when changed" saving being useful for
something that needs to be kept fully watched and absolutely needed for
correctly rebooting.
I am not trying to increase your work load for 4.0, but as you put it,
it could be a problem, but could also be an enhancement.
