Richard,

1.  Thanks for all of your hard work both providing and maintaining this
mailing list.  I certainly appreciate it and I know others do too.

2.  My only point in trying to assemble an archive was to make it
available to anyone on ftp.gallops.com.  Will your archive cover all of
1997?  I don't remember when the mailing list server changed.

3.  If the searchable archive project will take some time to complete,
perhaps you could "spool" off an ASCII file of just the messages without
attachments?  I'd be happy to do any formatting or stripping required to
get it to "usable" form for uploading to ftp.gallops.com.

4. Searchable would be nice perhaps, but I get a kick (and a few ideas)
when I scroll through the old archive texts.
