that's an interesting statement, for I would have assumed the exact opposite - for most people, an answering machine will do the job, and I'm on board almost exclusively to turn the lights on and off and integrate them with home audio, and maybe, possibly, at some point integrate security. Could it be that there are two parts to the market? In any case, I agree that it's rather pointless to support unavailable hardware.
