Hi Marcus, I assume you have downloaded ECS-Lite.
The minimum (cost-wise) you would need to control lights/appliances
would be the X-10 CM11A (PLC-Interface-2H) and a X-10 Lamp module
and/or Appliance module.
Regarding $, we are in complete agreement -
I would prefer that you have ECS up and running
to your satisfaction before making a purchase.
I have forwarded your question to ecs-list, so expect
more advice from our customers
(they are very helpful and knowledgable).
Feel free to call me at 423-745-0026 if you need more advice
on hardware selections. Since ECS supports so many different
devices, this can be a complicated decision.
