Please note my Email adress has changed to: HerronF@US.IBM.COM
Downloaded the ECSB and played with it today. Put the line in Autoexec.bat
Reload ECST. At Initializing Items it would now say: IR-Interface-2C is
being Initialized please wait and then Ir-Interface-2C init is complete. I
next tried learning an IR Command. Push F7 and push button on IR Remote.
ECS would say learn complete. F5 and F6 to save config.
Tried the IR item in an event and it would not work. Did Cntrl-X and
Alt-C. Pushed the IR remote button ,many times. The cpt.tmp file was only
one line long, it said capture on.
In a Group screen the Ir-Interface-2C was always idle.
If I did Cntrl-X while learning (f7) a button I could see the traffic going
to and from the box.

Now for the extra confusion. I took the reset line out of Autoexec.bat and
went back to 12-29 ECST and it still says Init OK at boot up!!!

As with you I am tired of it (JDS IRXP2), so it is going back next week to
the land of bad toys. I have on order a HomeVision PC, which It seems many
folks have and seem to enjoy. As a bonus I'll get a new, maybe better X10
device as well as some more digital Ins and outs.

IF THERE IS SOME REASON I SHOULD NOT GET A HOMEVISION, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for the new Year!!
