Dan,
Have you tried using the Icon-click items? These make the icons in ECS very
useful. As I understand enh #23 the 1.7% resources is *with* icons which
implies that the resources would be less without the icon. Perhaps you can
simply not use icons if you do not find them useful.

Would it be possible to get a "text" version of ECSW to allow less
windows resources to be eaten up by the group window containing "item"
windows within it? Personally, I don't need the fancy icons as they are
not really up to current windows type graphics and I have never used
them in my dos machine as they cause the same problems, eat memory and
slow machine!!! Are they really necessary? I mean, I understand why
you are making a windows native program and how much of our interface
with ECS is nicer with it, but are we gaining anything with the icon
windows within the group window? Could you make the icons and items
without actual windows for each one and save windows resources?
