Yes - home automation is alive and well in OZ and NZ. You can purchase the
basic X10 units from Grant Ford, Waitomo Energy Services, Te Kuiti, NZ. (no
website). These are all approved for use in NZ and include plug in appliance
modules, wall light/dimmers switches, RF transceivers (plug in), 16 on/off RF
remotes, alarm clock/ controller, wall appliance switches, X10 burglar alarm
kits which double as an X10 controller etc. Another source is Barry Parr (IEP
Ltd) of Rotorua, NZ He bought up all the Tandy X10 modules from Midac of OZ.
He has a website.
I personally use ECS and X10 to control my whole house. Don't hesitate to
