I have no experience with Homevision so can't comment about its temperature
sensor implementation.
I did, however, solve the same problem (integrating digital temparature
sensors) by using a "Hot Little Therm" device from Spiderplant. This
device sits on a serial port and seems to support the same type of digital
temperature sensors that homevision supports. I had to code support
within ECS via its "serial byte item" facilitiy, but this was not difficult
due to the simplicity of the HLT polling protocol.
Additional information re the HLT device can be found at
www.spiderplant.com.

Subject: [ECS] temperature senosrs and homevision
I am thinking of getting ECS and homevisionPC, but I want to use digital
temperature sensors. The digital temp sensor expansion board that home
vision sells works only with the full version of homevision.
What is the best way to add digital temperature sensors to the system?
Will
ECS work with the full version of homevision? That said, I all I really
want are temperature sensors, I don't care if they are digital.
Thanks,
Jim Devlin
