Hi Mark!

Doesn't ATL3 just set the volume while the modems are handshaking?  I seem
to remember that the playback level of messages on my phoneblaster, and that
zoom comstar piece of junk I tried a while back, did not change whether I
had set ATL1 or ATL3.  So, I don't think ATLx has anything to do with the
voice audio level.
