Subject: From: Date: | Voice Recognition technology question Carl Swanson Tue, 12 Jan 1999 12:05:40 -0600 |
All,
Not having used the ECS system before, I wanted to ask
about the tie in capabilities of ECS and voice recognition
products.
What is the current state of voice recognition systems
tied into computers? Can you say something like"
"Computer: Record NBC tonight at 8 PM"
or
"Computer: Arm the security system"
or
"Computer: Are any windows currently open?"
and have it understand and act on that? What hardware
and software understands those commands and interprets
them? Does it used room mikes, or do you have to activate
a mike and speak directly into it?
If anyone has something like this working I'd be curious to hear
about it.
Thanks,
Carl
