Moving some stuff last weekend, I temporarily disconnected my Model 40.
I noticed that my benchmark increased from about 8.4 passes/second to about
10.5 passes/second. This is using ECST v4 on a 486/100. This brought my
passes/second just about back to my 3.x speed, but didn't help the screen
switching speed.
Therefore, my Model 40 didn't have that big a speed hit, but as I recall,
when I added my Redac (before the Model 40) the speed change was tremendous!
If you don't have a Redac, then there might be this big a jump due to the
constant polling required of these devices. Apparently adding your first
polled device takes a big hit, but adding a second one isn't that noticable?
c'ya,
