Dancraft accessory I/O support

Looking up the pin outs for the external IR transmitters, I noticed and
remembered about the switch boards available from Dancraft. They add 8
inputs or 8 outputs depending of the board purchased and the model of IR
unit. I looked in ECS.HTM and did not find any mention of them. Are
they supported for ECS? Can I use them to sense on/off status of
audio/video equipment without wasting my micro-redac i/o's and having to
run extra wires from ECS to my A\V equipment? It would be nice to be
able to have more i/o without using any extra serial ports, especially
since on/off status of A\V equipment is such a common thing to watch.
