A couple of things.  

Dancraft makes an 8 output breakout board but I don't think ECS supports
it as I have never seen a way to use it.  Dancraft says it will work
with the 100 model on their paperwork.  I would love to find a way to
use the other Dancraft boards as they can even add inputs or outputs on
the same Serial port as the IR Master.  

There are double stick on emitters, one 1/8 inch plug with a y shaped
cord and two IR LED's in series that work fine with the IR Masters and
the 3 way breakout board.  That gives you six emitters with no
problems.  That is how I currently use mine.  2 dual emitters directly
controlling the equipment in the theater where the IR Master is and one
single emitter routed into another room.  It works fine that way. 
Extensions are just 2 conductor wires with a jack on one end and a plug
on the other.  Tip to Tip, Ring to Ring.

You could also create your own routing system with a set of relays from
any relay type item and have a single output be switched to multi rooms
or equipment beyond the 3 outputs of the IR Master.

For future expansion, take a look into other systems to route IR.  HAS
catalog has them on page 77.  It looks like the brand name on the
products is Xantech.  There are powered 4, 6, or 10 emitter blocks that
take a single input and power more outputs that probably could even take
the dual emitters and double your capacity.  There are also 2, 4, or 6
zone connectors that let you split and common IR signals also.  I would
expect that they would work with any standard type IR like the IR
Master.  IR signals and the power levels to drive the LED's are
basically the same across the board as all can use the same type of
emitters.  The question here would be: 
Can the output of one IR driver be routed directly into the receiver
port of another?  The receiver ports show three connections.  Power for
the receiver, ground, and input.  I would assume ground to ground and
signal out to IR input?  Does anybody know if this is feasible? 
Otherwise you would need to put an emmitter face to face with a receiver
and tape with black tape to keep spurious emissions from controlling
anything.  Does anybody else have an answer to this electronics IR
question?
