Subject: From: Date: | ACE, Touchscreens and windows 3.1 Kevin Keast Wed, 3 Feb 1999 20:58:51 -0500 |
Hello All,
If anyone is curious about using touchscreens I have successfully installed
Windows 3.1 and ACE client on a 40 mb Hard Drive. Unfortunately it requires
more than 4 mb of RAM to run.
I am using EHT 400C Epson color VGA touchscreens. If you can find any of
these things they are turning out to be worth their wieght in gold. I got
mine from an Ebay auction. They have 4 PCMCIA slots, printer port, and
serial port, also a keyboard or PS2 mouse input. I still don't have one
networked but have a card on the way. I have installed all software using a
null modem cable and intersvr and interlnk (very cool and simple program!
Just keep in mind you cannot connect a FAT32 machine with a FAT16 using this
program. I had to revive an old 486 to do the transferring. (wasn't too
painful a process).
If you want any more info, check out my HA page at:
http://www.ele.uri.edu/~keastk/auto.htm
I will be updating it with my progress sometime this week.
Cheers,
Kevin
