Re: [ECS] Potential ECS Newbie with lots of questions

Hi Keven!

Actually FAT16 and FAT32 only refer to the file system. 32bit and 16bit
programs run fine together under both Win95 and Win98, with either FAT16 or
FAT 32. I do it all the time. :)

For the record, I prefer FAT32 file systems.

Cheers!

Mark,

I don't know if you got any input on this so I hope I am not repeating whay
you may already know:

With the 32 bit system, If you are using ACE you can't run WinAmp with the
ACE-32 obviously. Also you can't run 32 bit apps obviously on the FAT16
machines. I would recommend installing win95 ver b to bring everything up
to FAT32 of course you would have to reformat hard drives!

Also I just ran into this the other day. I am using windows 3.1 for
workgroups on a touchscreen and needed to transfer files. I wanted to use
the Dos programs intersvr.exe and interlnk.exe. They are great but you
cannot link a FAT32 and FAT16 machine together this way. Just a trivial
matter though. I had to revive an old 486 that was almost dead but I got it
going.

This may or may not have helped....

Kevin
