Hi Jeff,
ECS can handle this via a SERIAL-BYTE Item,
where an Event would interpret the bytes
as they are received, keeping track of the
current context. It would also have to
do a little math to convert the ASCII
character values to numeric values
(e.g. ASCII '0' = 48, etc).
No big deal, just a bit tedious.

If you prefer, I could add "direct" (internal)
support for say $100. You would then have separate
Item Types for each state reported by the unit
(similar to what you currently see for the
Weather-Interface-A).
