TTS->Wave is much better too, but suffers from stuttering. I have a RAM
drive, but that didn't help much.

I have a stutter as well during the first second of speech. After that it is
smooth.

Also, my settings.exe (10-02-98) doesn't work anymore - I get a Field
Overflow error. There didn't seem to be a new one in the ECSupd.zip file -
has it been renamed in 4.0?

Right. Mine doesn't work either. I had to go into the .DT file and edit it
manually to get ECS going.
When you start it, even from a DOS box, it boots you right back to the
command line like nothing ever happened.

As for the "DOS look and feel", it is certainly getting better. The most
useful thing though would be some work on the data entry methods. Have any
of you used Quicken? That is probably the best and simplest method of data
entry and selection I have ever used. ECS DOS used to be close with its
automatic fill in as you typed. That would be first on my list for ease of
use, especially as the number of items and events climbs.

Oh yes, Mark, I assume I can ditch the old hard disk authorization stuff
now? If I put in a new hard drive do I need to worry about the old
de-authorize, re-authorize?
