Exactly. I had a guy in a local Lowes (big chain hardware store) swear
that the left side was 1 phase and the right was the other. When I asked
him how come the 220 volt breakers fit in 2 slots, one on top of the
other, he didn;t know what to say. I'm stll not sure if he believed me,
though.

Wow. No color coding here. Both phases use black.
