Mark,

I would suggest that rather than trying to swim upstream, you use all of the
conventional Windows styles, rather than a customized subset.

I don't really need that, but I don't mind the Windows style conventions
either.

On the other hand, you will find that the mass market now EXPECTS you to
follow these conventions, whether we like it on not.

In this vein, I would strongly suggest you follow the "official" rules,
which are published in "The Windows Interface Guidelines for Software Design
" by Microsoft Press, 1995.
