Subject: From: Date: | BOYCOTT Yahoo Mark Gilmore Mon, 15 Feb 1999 13:10:46 -0800 |
Dear customers and fellow-businessmen,
Yahoo has finally let the cat out of the bag. In the story at
http://www.zdnet.com/zdnn/stories/news/0,4586,2206436,00.html,
they admit that it takes MONTHS to process listing submissions,
and that SOME ARE NEVER PROCESSED. But conveneniently, they will
now "expedite" submitalls for a $200 charge.
I have been trying to get listed for over NINE months. MUCH time
has been wasted submitting, re-submitting, sending "bug" reports,
sending emails, leaving voice mail, etc. NO response was ever
received to any correspondence (all of which were VERY politely
worded). Reading thru the postings related to the above story,
I found that MANY others have had similar experiences, one of
which has been trying for a YEAR to get her site listed.
Businesses should BOYCOTT Yahoo as they have shown considerable
contempt for those of us who are trying to make a living in a
dignified manner.
Surfers should BOYCOTT Yahoo because everyone now knows what I
have suspected for a long time - namely that YAHOO SEARCHES ARE
EXCLUDING MOST SITES CREATED AND/OR MOVED IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS
(ANCIENT HISTORY IN THE INTERNET). So for those who want an
accurate search of CURRENT sites, Yahoo is NOT an option.
I ask that this message be forwarded to as many as possible.
