How about a "snap to" grid that can be turned on or off? It would force all
values to be a multiple of 5 or 10 or whatever. Alignment would then be much
easier and quicker. Most drawing programs and CAD programs do this.

Sorry Bob, there is no "easy way".
The applicable parsing logic in ECS is "dumb"
(strict column alignment), as I figured that
very few would edit group definitions manually.
