Subject: From: Date: | Re: [ECS] Phone line with PBX stephens.west.net Thr, 25 Feb 1999 07:11:49 +700 |
Hi Mark:
I'm sorry not to be clear. I've created an event that starts a Phone-Call
by setting it to call. The following line reads...
Text-Item Set SPEAK->PC:HS
It is this item that triggers the error message. Thinking about it, I
suspect I'm to blame, as the modem is plugged to station side of
the phone switch, NOT line side, so the modem might not see a dial tone.
I tried another comm program and got the same error, so the problem
probably isn't at your end. I'm going to try and bypass the PBX and see
if this doesn't help, and will keep you advised.
Could you clear something up for me? When I had the BigmOuth installed,
I ran the phone line from the wall to the line side of the BigmOuth, and
then ran the jack marked phone on the back of the BigmOuth to the station
side of my PBX. Is it possible that the modem doesn't like this routing?
By the way, I'm using a Zoom 14.4, so I am pretty sure that the Rockwell
chipset commands are supported.
Thanks for your help.
Don
