Subject: From: Date: | FTP upload hangs Mark Gilmore Sat, 27 Feb 1999 20:15:59 -0800 |
Hello all,
This is not related to ECS directly, but it DOES effect my
ability to upload updates:
I have a FREQUENT problem whereby my FTP uploads "stutter"
and eventual STOP DEAD for no apparent reason. By "stutter",
I mean that my "bytes sent" count start pausing, though
nothing else is running on the PC. Once it stops for good,
NOTHING will cause a single additional byte to be transmitted
(including NetScape email requests and web page downloads).
But I HAVE found that running RealAudio DURING the upload
seems to LESSEN the problem, implying that the delays incurred
somehow "fixes" it.
I have also tried WINFTP (identical results), and have
called my ISP (which offers great tech support) numerous
times to no avail. We have verified my ISP settings numerous
times. As a shot in the dark, I also tried lowering my
transmit/receive buffer sizes (in Win modem setup) and
also disabling 16550 UART support).
This problem is restricted to uploads ONLY.
Any ideas ?
This is really getting to be a pain.
THANKS.
