David,
ECS uses a separate DOS Window ONLY to execute/control any
other programs you may desire, and to access a special utility
to check for free system resources prior to displaying new
windows - this is to avoid a W95 hard crash when "too many"
windows are opened. This is a W95 BUG which is NOT handled by
other Win software - they will simply lockup the system.
ECS-Lite works with the HomeVision & TimeCommander, but
is limited to X-10 capabilities. For IR control, you would
need ECS-Standard.
