Hi, Mike.

The OFA serial cable is only two or three feet long, although you could
extend it with a regular 9-pin serial cale. I'm not sure what the maximum
length is you can use. It may be 50 feet. Your other alternative would be to
use some type of IR repeater system such as the Powermids (which I used).
