Mark,

I talked with you this morning about ECS and my garage door. I installed ECS and tried
it out. Very nice! Very rich in logicals! However I noticed one problem that you
might want to work around. I have two brands of X-10 light switches installed in my
home: X-10 brand (no local dimming) and Leviton Brand. The Leviton units are of the
decora variety and employ local control, soft start and start at last setting. I created
an item (light) in ECS and attempted to control one of the Leviton units. It appears
that ECS is not able to properly control the Leviton unit. I can turn the unit on
and off but cannot properly control the brighness. ECS was able to properly control
an X-10 brand light switch that has standard hard start. You may be interested to know
that the Activehome software has pull-down dialog items for Leviton specific switches.
The Activehome software is able to control my Leviton products properly. If this could
be solved I would be sold. However, with 25 of these Leviton units installed I cannot
justify replacing them. Do you have a solution?? If you like you can call me at (734)
676-5967 and I can be more detailed.
