Well, my idea was a bit half-baked :-):

If ECS monitored an ON command being sent to such a module,
it would restore the Item not to ON, but to its previously
dimmed level (as described below).

BUT if an EVENT (or ECS user) set the Item to ON
(implying a desired 100% brightness), ECS would
either:
1) Send on ON command (assuming NO local dimming).
2) Calibrate the module (via EITHER repeated DIMs
   or BRIGHTs), then send on ON.
   Such calibration would actually be required for
   all States (other than OFF).
I was also thinking that the new Parameter would
be "PRESET DIM:Y/N" (rather than "LOCAL DIM" as I
suggested below).
Thoughts ?

TODD: If you set the module to full brightness
(via the switch) ECS should control the light properly
(IF it is a LM14A copy).
