Subject: From: Date: | module reset after power fail Wayne Wittenberg Mon, 03 Aug 1998 07:22:14 -0400 |
I am using some lights that are typically dimmed to 30% most of the
evening and dimmed to 0% the rest of the day. This works fine most of the
time. It does have one quirk, that I would finally like to eliminate.
If the power has failed during the day (ECS is on a UPS), when evening
falls, the lamps come on at 100% and do not dim.
What is the classiest way to make sure they get dimmed properly? I know
that after a power fail the modules will have to start at 100%, then dim,
rather than the normal graceful brightening. At the moment I do NOT have a
power fail
signal into ECS, so I guess this would event would have to run every day,
regardless of power fail. If I can't do this gracefully, I will add a power
fail sensor to ECS, then I can set the module 'off' when power returns.
I know that this shouldn't be difficult and I suspect that others have
run into it before. I tried resetting the item (per the manual), but that
doesn't seem to work with dimmed items.
c'ya,
