Subject: From: Date: | RE: [ECS] Motion Detectors MS13A GREAMS.VIRON.com Mon, 22 Mar 1999 9:16:36 -0600 |

Glen,
You may also want to consider having some of your detectors control lights
directly (i.e. detector set for same house & unit code as appliance module)
and others control via ECS using the PLC-Button item. Directly controlled
lights switch on within about 1 second of motion detection. Switching via
CM11A and ECS takes more like 2.5 to 3 seconds (this is due to X-10 PLC
limitations, not ECS).

Subject: Re: [ECS] Motion Detectors MS13A
Glen,
I would use a PLC-BUTTON Item to do this
(yes, this is NOT intuitive :-).
If your motion-detector was set for A1,
then your Event-line would read:
If Motion Is 1/ON ; motion detected ?
...
Else If Motion Is 1/OFF ; motion stopped ?
...
I am assuming that it sends ON for motion and
OFF for end-of-motion.
BTW, The "SWITCH-2" is just the icon type - it has nothing
to do with how the Item is processed.
