Glenn, At the end of my portion of this post I will include a snippet from my items and events. I have a couple (I should say HAD) set up as PLC-Button as Mark recommends, and the others as straight appliance items. The reason I say HAD is that I was using 4 and now have them all (I hope temporarily) out of service. As long as I used them I had strange light occurrences. I would have lights going on and off when they should not consistently, just now and then. I tried tr4acking this down for WEEKS, even moving all Hawkeyes to an unused housecode. Nothing stopped the strange occurrence until I took them out of service. My next plan is to put them back 1 by 1. Anyway: |Item:Motion: Masterbed Type:Appliance Acc:User/User | Initial State:(None) Backup:No | House Code :G | Unit Code :2 |Item:Motion: Office Type:Appliance Acc:User/User | Initial State:(None) Backup:No | House Code :G | Unit Code :8 |Event: Motion Lights Called ?:No | | If Somebodies home Is Off | Then ECS: Event exit Set True | | BEGINIF Someone is in bed Is False | And Barb is napping Is Off | If Motion: Masterbed Is Now On | Then Master bed light Set On | If Motion: Masterbed Is Now Off | Then Master bed light Set Off | ENDIF | BEGINIF Adamsleeps Is False | If Master lights Is Now 5/On | Then Adam's Light Set On | If Master lights Is Now 5/Off | Then Adam's Light Set Off | ENDIF | | BEGINIF Sarasleeps Is False | If Master lights Is Now 7/On | Then Sara's light Set On | If Master lights Is Now 7/Off | Then Sara's light Set Off | ENDIF | | If Motion: Office Is Now On | Then Light office Set On | If Motion: Office Is Now Off | Then Light office Set Off | End Mark S -----Original Message----- From: Gianino, Glenn [mailto:Glenn.Gianino@CAI.COM] Sent: Monday, March 22, 1999 8:00 AM To: 'ecs-list@netbloc.com' Subject: [ECS] Motion Detectors MS13A Ok, I'm a newbe to ECS... Can someone aim me to any information on using the standard wireless X-10 Motions like MS12/MS13a. I'm looking for some ITEM and EVENT definitions. Any examples would be great.... I'm using an MS13 today and defined the ITEM as a SWITCH-2 and an APPLIANCE module. I get the on status from the MS13 but not the off status when it stops detecting motion. (PS, active home sees it, but ECS doesn't?... naa, I must have configured it wrong? ) Glenn J. Gianino Islandia, NY 516 342 2308 glenn@cai.com
