Subject: From: Date: | TC+ Communication Error Jerry Swords Tue, 23 Mar 1999 14:28:38 -0500 |
I've been "warming up" to ECS using a CM11A interface. Gradually, I've
transferred operations that don't require digital/analog input from my TC+
to ECS.
Today, I intended to disconnect the CM11A both physically and in ECS, attach
my TC+ to the same serial port, configure the TC+ in ECS, and use it for PLC
functions, as well as IO and relay functions. However, after configuring
the PLC-Interface-2G item in ECS with COM3, Station #0, I get a "ERROR:
PLC-Interface-2G not responding on COM3" message when attempting to save to
ecs.cfg.
I tried the autoexec.bat fix mentioned in the help files, with the same
results. Since I am using the 2.4d firmware released in 1998 (9600 bps), I
don't think my TC+ would be using the old commands, anyway. The TC+ will
still operate normally using JDS's WinEVM software, on COM3, so the computer
is talking to the TC+, but ECS isn't. I even used WinEVM to execute the
stop and clear program functions, to ensure that the TC+ did not have the
old WinEVM program running.
I would really appreciate any advice that other TimeCommander Plus users (or
anyone) may have to offer.
Thank you,
Jerry Swords
